  HFMA researchers surveyed 117 senior financial executives about their organization's value-based payment readiness. The survey shows that 70% of executives anticipate an extremely important need for internal interoperability. 50% anticipate an extremely important need for external interoperability. nearly 75% of executives reported positive financial results from value-based payment programs to date. In 2015 there was a 12% adoption of payer value-based programs, 24% in 2017. It is projected that there will be a 50% adoption in 2018.
